Margaret Herman

Margaret Vanair Ross Herman, 88 of Hickory died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born June 11, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Roland Lewis Ross and Nancy Callie Norwood Ross. Margaret was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Two daughters, Kathy Leonard and husband Gerald of Hickory and Linda Templeton of Lenoir; three sons, Danny Herman and wife JoAnne of Conover, Bill Herman of Hickory and Gary Herman and wife Deidre of Hickory; two sisters, Helen Pennell of Taylorsville and Inez Young of Hildebran; 11 grand-children and 12 great grand-children survive her. In addition to her husband, the late William Howard Herman; a son, Donald Herman; a brother, Jerome Ross and a sister, Minnie Shook Cannon preceded her in death. A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery. The Rev. John W. Duncan Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 1-2:00 p.m., at the church. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1686 6th St. SE Hickory, NC 28602.
