Margaret "Peg" Ellis

Margaret "Peg" Elizabeth Roberts Ellis, 87, of Lenoir passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Carolina Caring. Born May 18th, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Eugene Leslie Roberts Sr. and Margret Ham Roberts.

Peg grew up in Pikeville, North Carolina and attended Goldsboro High School where she met the love of her life, Bud. She attended Woman's College of Greensboro (now UNC Greensboro) and married Bud Ellis in 1955. Peg was known by many for her love of books, interior design, and her beautiful flowers. She was best known for her deep affection and unconditional love for her family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters Joni Bush (Doug) of Hickory and Jenny Flaherty (Jon) of Apex; two sons Sam Ellis of Lenoir and Bryan Ellis (Wanda) of Lenoir; a brother Gene Roberts (Susan) of New York, New York; eight grandchildren Ashley Burke (Ryan), Meghan Jenkins (Ben), Hannah Oliver (Evan), Nick Bush, Amber Biecker (Chris), Thorn Ellis (Taylor), Trey Ellis (Erin), Cade Ellis, Grant Icenhour and Drew Icenhour (Taylor); and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Richard "Bud" Ellis; and a daughter-in-law Courtney Ellis.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
