June 11, 1954 — February 14, 2020

Marilyn J. MacLachlan, age 65, passed away on Friday, February 14th, 2020 at Frye Hospital in Hickory. She was born on June 11th, 1954 in Mooresville, NC. She was the daughter of the late William Perry Jordan and Peggy Jean Walls.

Her husband of nearly 49 years, William A. MacLachlan (Bill); her son William MacLachlan and wife Haley; and brother Norman Jordan survive her.

In addition to her parents; her sister Nancy Darlene Jordan preceded her in death.

To her family, Marilyn will be remembered as a thoughtful and loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. Whether it was a phone call, a quick text, or planned outings-Marilyn was known for reaching out and trying to bring the family together. She was always so excited and pleased when she got to spend time with her loved ones. Truly, Marilyn was a one-of-a-kind and she was always there for those in need to offer them a listening ear and wise guidance.

Marilyn spent many years working with Burke County School System and prior to that she was known for her work with the preschool children through First Baptist Church. She was also a CNA and worked many years caring for others. Marilyn made friends everywhere she went due to her outgoing personality and the fact that she never met a stranger.

Although she will be greatly missed, her selfless love and kindness will never be forgotten.
