Marion Lunneman

Marion Wright Lunnemann, 76, of Newton died Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Levine & Dickson Hospice. Born April 30th, 1943 she was the daughter of Cecil Shirley Wright and Betsy Brownson Lawless.

In addition to her parents, Marion was preceded in death by her late husband of 50 years, C. John Lunnemann.

Marion was survived by her daughter Pamela L. Andre and son-in-law Carl Andre; two granddaughters Heather K. Andre and Christina (Tina) A. Andre. She is also survived by her sisters Laura Lee Wright and Shirley Harris, who were both by her side at the end.

Marion was an active member of the D.A.R., Women's Club and Garden Club of Hickory. Marion had been a Girl Scout Troop Leader for 10 years. She had reorganized 3 C.A.R. societies in three different states and taught thousands of people first aid through the Red Cross. Finally, she was a hot air balloon pilot and flew her balloon in several states and Canada.

The funeral will be 3:00 pm Friday December 6, 2019 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm Friday December 6, 2019 at the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home. Please bring your favorite dessert to share at the receiving, to honor Marion who was always the one to order desert before dinner.
