Martin Frank

Martin G. Frank, Jr. was received into the Kingdom of Heaven March 16, 2014. He was born June 11, 1929 in Anson Co., NC to the late Martin Griffith Frank, Sr. and Flossie Tysinger Frank. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Ann McKenzie Frank of the home; his daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Frank of the home; his son Joseph Frank and wife Dianne of Hickory; his son Richard Frank and wife Kelly of Hickory and his daughter Mary Ann and husband Jim Brown of Rhodhiss, NC; two sisters, Elizabeth Chambers of High Point and Jackie Carelock of Gaffney, SC; and nine grand-children, Waylon, Jessica, CJ, Lacy, Martin, Quinn, Carlos, Jacob and Coby. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Martin led a life of dedication and service. He joined the US Army in 1948, serving as a Military Police Officer for the Occupation Forces in Germany before returning home in July 1950. Martin worked for Carolina Container for 42 years, first in High Point, NC then moving to Hickory in 1966. After retiring from Carolina Container he was employed with Freightliner for 18 years. He was a dedicated servant, having been a member of Mt. Grove Baptist Church for 37 years, then joining Providence Baptist Church in 2003. Martin?s service was not only to his Family, his Lord and Savior but to his community as well. He was an esteemed and decorated member of the Mt. View Volunteer Fire Department since 1967. The funeral will be 2:00pm Thursday March 20, 2014 at Providence Baptist Church with Pastor Marion Powell and Pastor Carson Mosley officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00pm Wednesday March 19, 2014 at the church. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, 7618 Providence Church Rd., Hickory, NC 28602 or Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
