Mary Bentley

Mary Virginia Holland Bentley, 70 of Hickory died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at her residence. Born December 25, 1942 in Charleston, SC she was the daughter of the late Perry Elmer Holland & Julia Mae George Holland. Mary worked in environmental services for Camp Dogwood and for 10 years with Abernethy Laurels. In addition to her husband of 20 years, John Wayne Bentley of the home; two daughters, Tomorah Shoemaker Brakefield and husband Nicky of Clover, SC and Shannon Wade Hagler and husband Scott of Statesville; a step daughter, Melissa Navales of St. Peterburg, FL.; a step son, Anthony Scott Bentley of Sherrills Ford; a sister, Dorothy Stevens and husband Russell of Brunswick, GA; a brother, Charles Holland and wife Polly of Matthews, NC; a friend of the family, Jimmy Wood; two grand-children, Rusty Miller and wife Jerrica and Gavin Shoemaker; seven step grand-children, Ashley Hagler, Michelle Hagler, Layton Brakefield, Marcus Navales, Alexis Navales, Amber Bentley and Anthony Bentley survive her. A sister, Beverly H. Stewart and two brothers, Howard Holland and Onzie Holland preceded her in death. No services are planned at this time.
