Biography Mary Elizabeth Larson Brantley, 92 of Milton Street, Newton died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Brian Center, Viewmont. Born October 11, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Frances Porter Larson & Frances ?Fannie? Eula McIntyre. Mary was a co-owner of Central Electric Supply Company, along with her late husband Robert. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Hickory. Mary loved her Lord and Savior and desired to go Home. She was a member of Altrusa Club and an avid ballroom dancer. Mary loved to play bridge and was a member of two clubs during her lifetime. Mary is survived by Wanda and Lowell Baker of Newton; Gail and Wayne Spurlin of Hickory; Margareta Larson of Sarasota, Florida; Roger Brantley of Loveland, Ohio; four grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 58 years, Robert Winslow Brantley, Jr.; a brother, Frances Porter Larson, Jr. preceded her in death. A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2011 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Pat Pierce will officiate. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Mausoleum Entombment will follow, at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Hickory, 339 2nd Avenue Northwest, Hickory, NC 28601-4943 or Moody Bible Institute, 820 N. LaSalle Blvd. Chicago, IL 60610.
