Mary Lounez Brown 65 of Conover died Saturday September 21st, 2013 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Sherrills Ford. Born August 20th, 1948 she was the daughter of William Richard and Nettie Ann Mellon. In addition to her husband of 47 years Glenn Brown, a daughter, Cyndi Huffman and husband Lane of Claremont; a son, Glenn Brown, III and wife Misty of Conover; five sisters, Lillian Owens of Fallston, NC, Willa Mae Camp and Husband Virgil of Kings Mountain, Gennette Jenkins of Conover, Polly Houston and husband Don (Buddy) of Newton, and Joyce George of Newton; a brother, Boyd Mellon of Hickory; a grand-daughter, Jessica Brown of Conover; two grand-sons, Christian Brown of Claremont, and Tyler Brown of Conover; her mother-in-law, Dorthy T. Brown of Conover; and many nieces and nephews survive her. In addition to her parents, a sister, Francis Roberson and two brothers, Fred Mellon and Paul Mellon preceded her in death. The funeral will be 3:00 PM Tuesday September 24th, 2013 at Oxford Baptist Church with Pastor Joel Frye and Mike McKinney officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Claremont. Pallbearers will be Todd Houston, Michael Houston, Tim Benfield, Steven Herman, Ricky Herman and Jody Rockett. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00pm Tuesday at Oxford Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Oxford Baptist Church, 5965 Springs Rd. Conover, NC 28613.
