Mary Lowery

Ms. Mary Louise Lowery, 68, of Maiden died Wednesday September 27, 2023, at Cardinal Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, following a period of declining health. Ms. Lowery was born September 4, 1955, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Lowery.

Mary was saved in the summer of 1975 and was baptized at Oak Harbor Baptist Church in Mayport Florida. She was a member of Beth Haven Baptist Church and served in the nursery caring for small children. She also served in the bus ministry as well as teaching children about Jesus in the master blast.

Mary worked various jobs throughout her life including being a manager at Arby's and other restaurants, working at AlcaTel, as well as being a security guard at Allied Bartin. She graduated from CVCC with an associate in arts in 1990 with her dream of becoming a chef.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Brenda Faye Lowery Ketchens.
She leaves to celebrate her life, one daughter, Elizabeth May Lowery Lesher (Ernie), as well as two grandchildren Austin and Zavery Lesher, a sister, Betty Proctor (Roy), niece Kimberly Proctor, nephew John Proctor (Patricia), as well as four great nieces and nephews Brent, Allen, Allia, and Kathryn.

Ms. Lowery lovingly helped raise her niece Crystal Ketchen who had two children, Christopher Ketchens and Amanda Ketchens. Amanda has 3 children Madison, Braylen and Collin. Mary also helped raise her nephew, Michael Ketchens. Michael and his spouse Shelly have two children Arial and Avery.

Funeral services for Mary Louise Lowery will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday September 29, 2023, at Jenkins Funeral Home in Newton, with Rev. David Mimms officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.
