Mary Lyerly

Mary Ethel Louise Lyerly, 62, of Claremont passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at her residence. Born February 8th, 1959 she was the daughter of James Dowd and Mildred Louise Farley Lyerly. Mary worked at West Rock for 35 years, before retiring at an early age.

She is survived by her significant other of 30 years Tim King of the home; two sons Darnell Lyerly of Hickory and Jermichael Watts of Claremont; her mother Mildred Lyerly of Claremont; a sister Annette Frazier (Zach) of Claremont; two brothers Johnny Lyerly (Mary) of Claremont and Donald Lyerly (Melissa) of Claremont; eight grandchildren Spencer Whisnant of Hickory, Brody Whisnant Hickory, Tristan Lyerly of York, SC; J'len Wilson of Cullowhee, Raekwon Elwell of Conover, Ciara Chantely of Lenoir, Easton Watts Murray of Lincolnton, and Kegan Watts Murray of Lincolnton; two aunts Dorothy Shuford and of Hickory Evelyn Wilson of Catawba; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father J.D. Lyerly; and numerous aunts and uncles.

The funeral will be 2:00 pm Thursday, October 14th, 2021 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm-1:45 pm Thursday, October 14th, 2021 at Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.
