Mary Mozeley

HICKORY Mary Freda Frye Mozeley, 93, of Hickory, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 in the presence of family. She was born March 28, 1923 to the late Frank and Freda Jones Frye, and was preceded in death by her husband, George Robert Mozeley, of 34 years, her brother, Frank, and sister, Rebecca Frye Andrews. Mary and Robert were married at Bethany Lutheran Church Thanksgiving Eve 1952. Mary worked 19 years with A&P Tea Company as a clerk/cashier, was an avid seamstress, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her extended family. As a member of Bethany Lutheran Church for 63 years, she remained active in the Women’s group. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Sylvia B. Stotler and husband, Dr. William H. Stotler of Hummelstown, PA; Robert E. Mozeley of Hickory and girlfriend, Kim L. Reece of Valdese; Gaye M. Duckworth and husband, Robert C. Duckworth of Hickory; and Jan M. Middleton and husband, Kevin L. Middleton of Hickory. She leaves behind nine grandchildren, Will Stotler and wife, Sandi of PA, Christopher Stotler of OH, Melissa Biggs and husband Kevin of Conover, Jason Duckworth and wife Sara of Hickory, R.J. Mozeley and wife Daphne of Valdese, Jenny Lankford and husband Chris of Archdale, Drew Middleton of Durham, Kevin Middleton and wife Terri of Fuquay-Varina and Leslie Yount and husband Pat of Fuquay-Varina, 11 great grandchildren; niece, Lynn Cook and nephew, Keith Andrews and a sister in law, Ethel Sutton of Hickory. The family will receive friends at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1644 Main Ave. Dr. NW, Hickory, on Wednesday, November 23 from 11:00am-12:30pm, followed by the funeral service.at 12:45pm, with the Rev. Dr. C. Pierson Shaw, Jr. presiding. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 1741 9th St. NW, Hickory.
