Mary Phelps

April 12, 1932 — May 23, 2023

Mary Banks Phelps, 91, of Lincolnton passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023 in her home. Born April 12th, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Nanlee Banks.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Charlie, daughter Elizabeth, granddaughter Veronica, grandson Cameron "Candyball", and great-grandchildren Azi'yon, Ina'cent, Qua'Jaue, and Kahari.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Jackie, Dean (Mildred), Marshall, Bobby, Shelby, Sandra (Demetrius), and Cher; two sisters, Annie Ruth Mcllwain, Teresa Banks Whitman (Greg); a brother Sammy Banks; twenty-eight grandchildren, sixty-four great-grandchildren, twelve great-great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of family and friends.

The visitation will be 12:30-1PM, Tuesday, May 30th, 2023 in Jenkins Funeral Home Celebration Center with the service following at 1PM officiated by Reverend James Young in Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel.

A graveside service will be afterwards at Forest Lawn Cemetery located at 2858 NC-150, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
