Mary Pugh

Mary Dean Pugh 77 of Conover died Thursday, November 23rd, 2017 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born March 2nd, 1940 she was the daughter of the late Cyrus L. Dean and Gladys M. Dean. Mary was retired from the food service department at Catawba Valley Medical Center. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church and she volunteered at the Senior Morning out at First Presbyterian Church in Newton. She loved working with Crafts. The love of her life was her husband, Doug Pugh, her son, her brothers, sisters and grandchildren.  A son, Robert (Robby) Pugh and wife, Kim of Newton; two step sons; a step daughter; two sisters, Alice Brown Barber of Lenoir and Christine Dean Carter of Lenoir; three brothers, Charlie Dean and wife Betty of Wise, VA, Glen Dean of Lenoir and William Ray Dean of Lenoir and three grandchildren, Kody, Kelsea and Kynsea and numerous nieces and nephews survive her. In addition to her parents, her husband Douglas Pugh preceded her in death. The funeral will be 11:00 am Tuesday, November 28th, 2017 at Highland Baptist Church in Hickory with Pastor Jess Lotts and Pastor Harvey Turner, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery at Jenkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8:00 PM at the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.   Memorials may be made to the Student Ministry of Highland Baptist Church 828 9th Ave NE Hickory, NC 28601.
