Mary Jane Tyree 66 of Newton died Saturday July 27th, 2013 at her residence. Born May 3rd, 1947 she was the daughter of the late Homer Dale Bumgardner and Mavis Nancy Bumgardner. She retired from Hickory Springs after over 28 years of service.
Her husband of 46 years, James Edward Tyree of the home; Katherine Tyree of Newton and Sheila Beaverson and husband Gerry of Conover; two brothers, Carroll Bumgardner and wife Brenda of Hickory and Melvin Bumgardner and wife Sharon of Newton; a sister, Melvine Carpenter of Valdese; three grandchildren, Jennifer Beaverson, Jeremy Beaverson and Ashley Stewart survive her.
A sister, Christine Norman and a brother, Dale Bumgardner preceded her in death.
The graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 31, 2013 at Catawba Memorial Park with Reverend Homer McCoy officiating.
The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Jenkins Funeral Home.
