Mary Watson

July 7, 1941 — February 5, 2019

Kitty or Nana to many who knew her was nothing short of electric! She led a truly extraordinary life and everything she did was with a little or a lot of flare. She spent many years as a beautician and even owned her own shop-Casa de Bonita, a nod to her youth growing up in southern Texas. She was extremely competitive and was a formidable golfer, bowler and bridge player. Basically, no matter the sport you wanted her on your team just because you were sure to have a good time. She was a great cook, however she never could quite make the same recipe twice and measured in dashes and splashes of this or that. She was an accomplished painter and always loved the arts. That is where her free spirit really shined, always having the perfect bauble and hot glue gun ready in hand up for any project. However, more than anything else she loved her husband of 62 years and her family. She was the daughter of the late Edith Wallin and Horace Wallin. She was also preceded in death by her brother Bobby Wallin. She is survived by her loving husband, Bob Watson; daughters Kathy Robinson and husband David of Hickory; Cindy Grant and husband Greg of Augusta, GA; granddaughters Katie Fritz and husband Michael of Wilmington; Natalie Stair and husband Marshall of Knoxville, TN; Melissa Murphy and husband Jesse of Franklin, TN; great grandchild Olivia and Jackson Fritz; Genevieve and Ben Murphy; Stella Stair and many special friends. And our sincere love and appreciation for Lacy from Carolina Caring. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday February 9, 2019 from 1:00-3:30 at Viewmont Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Carolina Caring or Viewmont Baptist Church.
