The love of my life, Ms. Melinda, left me Saturday night. Melinda Sue Linder of Hickory passed away Saturday, June 9th, 2018 at her residence. Born April 25th, 1957 she was the daughter of the late Shirley Sigmon Moose and Dewel Sigmon of Hickory. She was a business entrepreneur, a loving wife and mother.
In addition to her father, Dewel Ervin Sigmon of Hickory, her husband of 22 years Darryl Linder of the home, a sister, Melanie Cook and husband Kelly of Hickory; a brother, Richard "Rick" Sigmon of Hickory; father-in-law, Wardlaw (Bud) Linder of Hickory; a nephew, Ethan Sigmon of Hollywood, CA; a niece Sydney Johnson of Clinton, NC and an aunt, Judy Stafford of Hickory survive her.
Her son, Ward Linder preceded her in death. She was a proud Blue Star and Gold Star mother.
The funeral will be 12:00 pm Saturday, June 16th, 2018 at Faith Reformed Church with The Rev. Dr. Harry Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm Friday, June 15th, 2018 at the Celebration Center at Jenkins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Faith Reformed Church, 204 19th Ave. SW Hickory, NC 28602.
