Melvin Tomblin, Jr. 67 of Connelly Springs died Saturday, February 11, 2023 at his residence. Born April 5th, 1955, he was the son of the late Melvin Tomblin Sr. and Martha Ellen Tomblin. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He adored his family especially his grandchildren. He was a helper and a giver to others. He was owner and operator of S & A Stucco for over 30 years.
His wife of 38 years, Mildred Tomblin of the home; Two daughters, Melinda Hullett and husband Lee of Hickory and Stephanie Tomblin of Connelly Springs; a son, Andy Tomblin and wife, Kelly of Vale, NC; five sisters, Mary Rudisill of Hickory, Byrle Browning of Chapmanville, WV, Alpha Buchanan of Taylorsville, Rosetta Adkins of Chapmanville, WV and Donna Kade of Connelly Springs; brothers; Merrill Tomblin of Rhodhiss, Josiah Tomblin of TN, Johnny Tomblin of Stony Point, James Tomblin of Hickory and Charles Tomblin of Hildebran; five grandchildren, Kevin Hullett, Justin Hullett, Caitlin Mackie, Emma Tomblin and Ben Tomblin and a great granddaughter, Laina Hullett and his best friend, Roger Gilliam and many good friends survive him.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Rhoda Tomblin and a brother, Ironton (Art) Tomblin preceded him in death.
The funeral will be 1:00 pm Wednesday February 15, 2023 at New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow at 2:45 PM at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Wednesday at the church.
