Biography Michael Matthew Brunner 80 of Hickory died December 6, 2012 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton. Born October 8, 1932, he was the son of the late Michael Brunner and Teresa Iritsky Brunner.
Michael was a very proud Marine.
In additon to his wife, Carol Ann Wawrzyniak Brunner of the home; three daughers, Patricia Parcells of Corvallis, Oregon, Beverly Pfeiffer of Silver Springs, MD and Julie Smith of Raleigh, NC; a son, Michael David Brunner of Columbia, SC; step sons, Kenneth Michael Niewalis of Hickory, Kevin John Niewalis of Jax, FL and Steven Andrew Niewalis of Fort Mill, SC; step daughter, Elaine Bunton of Conover; three sisters, Mary Deichmester, Margaret Smith and Yolanda Hilton, all of NJ and 12 grand-children survive him.
A Celebration of his Life will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 13, 2012 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church.Father Robert Farris will officiate.
Military rites will be provided by the Catawba Valley Detachment Marine Corp. League.
