Michael Crowder

Michael William Crowder, 62 of Bill Sain Road, Vale died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at his residence. Born November 16, 1946 in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Keefer William & Bessie Una Willis Crowder. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Vietnam era. He was a great husband, father and grand-father. His wife, Dawn Patsy Eve Flaxmer Crowder of the home; a daughter, Joanna Stevenson Morton of Kernersville, NC; three sons, Gary Stevenson of Vale, Bert Stevenson of Vale, Benjamin Crower of Stanley, NC; a sister, Christine Crowder Scronce of Vale, 7 grand-children, Austin Morton, Zachary Stevenson, Sebastian Stevenson, Ashley Morton, Leigha Stevenson, Owen Draper and Ethan Draper survive him. There will be no service at the request of Michael. He asks all friends to remember him with a smile and a beer. Memorials may be made to Sipes Orchard Home, 4431 County Home Road, Conover, NC 28613. The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Richard Orlowski, Dr. Benjamin Goodman, Dr. Gary McDougal and the compassionate care of Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley.
