Michael John Kohnen, Sr. 67 of Hickory died Thursday, May 12th, 2016 at his residence. Born January 2nd, 1949 he was the son of LaVerne Kohnen of Pittsburgh, PA. He was a self employed Log home builder and refinisher for over 10 years.
His wife of 31 years, Judy Kohnen of the home; two sons, Michael John Kohnen, Jr. and wife Myia of Pittsburgh, PA and Lance Kohnen and wife Heather of Hickory and a daughter, Dawn Bibza of Pittsburgh, PA; four brothers, Mark Kohnen of Pittsburgh, PA, Gig Kohnen of Pittsburgh, PA, Matthew Kohnen of Hookstown, PA and Marshall Kohnen of Mocksville; seven grandchildren, Michael, Ian, Cameron, Bryce, Devlin, Kairi and Addison and two great grandchildren survive him.
A sister, Maureen preceded him in death.
