Michael Proffitt

Michael Lee Proffitt 50 of Hickory died Sunday September 22nd, 2013 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born July 17th, 1963 he was the son of the late Roger Lee and Brenda Lee Proffitt. His significant other of 17 years, Karla Caywood of the home, a son; Michael Wayne Proffitt of Newport TN; a daughter, Katie Lynn Proffitt of the home; two brothers, David Proffitt of Taylorsville and Kenny Proffitt and wife Teresa of Vale, NC and a grandson, Zander Proffitt of Newport, TN survive him. He worked for Republic Services (GDS) for nine years. He was an avid NASCAR fan. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his family and extended family, Karla's children and grandchildren; Megan Weiss, Casey Caywood, Cody Caywood, Savannah Weiss, Henry Weiss and Jordan Caywood. The funeral will be 7:00 pm Wednesday September 25th, 2013 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roger Shook officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 pm Wednesday September 25th, 2013 at the funeral home.
