Misty Canipe

Misty Nicole Canipe 25 of Claremont died April 10th, 2014 at her residence after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born March 11th, 1989 she was the daughter of Elisha Baker, Jr. and Joyce Kay Martinez. She was formerly employed by Convergys Corporation. She was a caring and loving mother, sister and daughter. She had a strong will to survive and help everyone she met. She was a fighter and an inspiration to everyone she encountered. She will be loved and missed by many. A son, Ta'Quan Chatman of the home; a daughter, Kailyn Woods of the home; her fiance, Bradley Woods of Hickory; her mother and step father, Joyce Kay Martinez and Roberto Martinez of Claremont; her father and step mother, Elisha Baker, Jr. and Tammie Baker; a sister, Brooke Campbell and husband William of Long View, NC; a brother, Dylan Baker and fiance, Britany Gilbert of Claremont; a step brother, Kevin Beaty of Bessemer City, NC; her paternal grandparents, Mike and Patricia Reel of Memphis, IN; her maternal grandmother, Donnis Walker of Newton; her fiance's parents, Anthony and Beverli Woods of Hickory; six nieces and nephews survive her. The funeral will be 2:00 pm Monday April 14th, 2014 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joey Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Maiden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm Monday April 14th, 2014 at Jenkins Funeral Home.
