Myra Lee Harbin, 68, of Conover, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Born Sept. 16, 1948, she retired from Corning Cable Systems in Hickory. Myra was the daughter of Mary Johnson Platt of Drexel and the late Thomas Henry Platt Sr.
In addition to her mother, she was survived by two brothers and their wives, Thomas Henry and Barbara Platt Jr. of Conover, and Jeffrey James and Bobbie Platt of Morganton.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Winifred (Winnie) Platt, and Felicia (Pete) Platt, and her brother, Kenneth Harvey Platt.
Everett Wayne Isenhour Sr. of the home was her companion of 27 years.
Myra was blessed with three children; two sons and a daughter; John Harbin, and Dana Harbin Reese, both of Conover, Jerry and Julie Harbin, of Claremont, and a stepdaughter Karie Isenhour Meixner of Bethlehem.
Her greatest joy was her six grandchildren, and her great-grandson; Amber Hudson, Brittney Reese and Hannah Parker, Cory Reese, Maecie Brumley, Maggie Baker, and Kristen Helms. Ashton Campbell was her only great-grandchild.
She loved, and helped raise some of her many nieces and nephews.
Myra holds a special place in all our hearts and will be dearly missed by everyone she touched.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017, for a Celebration of Life in the Fellowship Hall at Open Door Baptist Church on Springs Road in Conover.
