Nancy Ann Hefner, 72 of Newton died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Catawba Valley Medical Center after a sudden illness. Born January 31, 1944 she was the daughter of the late George Philip Seitz and Edna Alberta Burris Seitz. Her family was her passion. She was known to her family and loved ones as "Granny." She was active in her church serving in numerous capacities. Two sons, Ronald Dean Hefner and wife Marie of Newton and David Philip Hefner of the home; daughter in law, Jo Ann Hefner Stanley and husband Tim; four grand-children, Heather Hefner, Amber Hefner, Kelsey Hefner and Dalton Hefner; three great-grand-children, Piper Huffman, Peyton Buchanan and Barrett Buchanan; sisters in law, Sara Seitz, Betty Seitz, Linda Hefner Brady; a brother in law, Dale Hefner and wife Vicki and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive her. In addition to her parents; her husband of 47 years, Larry Dean Hefner; a son, Randy Hefner; two brothers, Alvin Seitz and Howard Seitz; a sister, Helen Yount preceded her in death. The funeral will be 3:00 PM Sunday, April 24th, 2016 at New Jerusalem Lutheran Church with Pastor Randall Cauble officiating. Burial will follow at New Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery.
