Neil Bush

Neil Edwin Bush 55 of Newton passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022 at his home. Neil worked at Commscope for 29 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, downtown Newton. He graduated from Fred T Ford High School in 1985.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Deana Fowler Bush; one son, David Edwin Bush; his mother, Sonya Sue Link Bush; two brothers Mark (Bryan), Chris (Margaret); one sister, Laura Katherine (Katie) Bush, and two nephews, Derek and Ryder Bush. Neil was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Edwin Bush.

Neil was passionate about many things: history, hiking, and woodworking. His hand made wooden pepper mills and other well crafted Christmas gifts will be missed by his family. His 3 Banded Enfield rifle used by the Confederacy will be put on loan to the Catawba Historical Society. But he left word that the term " loan" was to be underscored. Neil loved NASCAR, especially all things Richard Petty. He tried to pass that love of racing on to his family, and even to his son when he was little. Unfortunately, it only put him to sleep. Neil loved his family and held them all close to his heart. His son was his special pride and joy.

There will be a Memorial Service celebrating Neil's life at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church in Newton.
