Nelson Mackey

Nelson Allen Mackey 72 of Newton died Monday, August 29th, 2016 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Sherrills Ford. Born July 13th, 1944 he was the son of the late Walter Allen Mackey and Grace Parker Mackey. He was owner and operator of Americraft Construction Incorporated. His wife, Angela Jones Mackey of the home; two daughters, Denise Michelle Mackey Rucker and husband Stephen of Granite Falls and Stephanie Mackey and fiance Joseph Querry of Hickory; two sisters, JoAnn Testerman of Hickory and Maxine Lula Mackey Rudisill and husband Allen of Icard; a brother, John Thomas Mackey and wife Judy of Hickory; two grandchildren, Angela Michelle Houser and Nathan Allen Mackey and two great grandchildren, Andrea Alexis Pendarvis and Kylie Shea Pendarvis survive him. The Celebration of Nelson's life will be 4:00 pm Friday, September 2nd, 2016 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel the Rev. Dr. Greg Hames officiating. The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
