Nita Jean Huff, 71, of Conover died Friday, August 18, 2023, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born September 16th, 1951, she was the daughter of the late George Henry Whipple Jr and Bertha Gertrude Whipple.
Nita retired from the hospitality industry after 30+ years. She was a member of Christ Church and also a member of the Women's Life Group. She was a strong and caring woman who didn’t hesitate to help anyone in need. She gave selflessly to those she loved. She was a spiritual woman who walk with her faith to the very end. A strong anchor who would always listen on the other end of the line when you needed it. She loved to crochet and create traditional special moments for each holiday to pass on to her family and carry on to future generations. She liked going to the beach and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed taking long drives, lunches and laughs with her family.
Survivors include:
Children: Sons; Dennis Whipple (Crystal), Luis Medina (Lisa), and daughter, Christina Medina. Son-in-law Billy Lara.
Grandchildren: Meashea Main, Deja Lara, Abria Rodriguez, Courtney Cartwright, Leslie Turner, Emily Lawrence, and William Lawrence.
Great-Grandchildren: LeeAnna, Abigail, Cheyenne, Taylor, Allison, ZayLynn, Tobias, Zila and Silas.
Brother: Ronald Whipple of New York
Sister: Kathy Wolfe of Maine and her daughter, Tammy Smith and her children; Tina, TJ, and Trisha.
Extended Family: Maria and Brendon O'Connor and their children; Lisa and her children, Shana and family; Kaylee and family; and Justin and family; Tina and her son Brandon; and Joseph with his children, Brianna, Sophia and Joey.
Her daughter, Amanda Lynn Lara and brother Bruce Charles Whipple, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends from 2PM - 3PM on Saturday August 26, 2023, at Jenkins Funeral Home Celebration Center. The Funeral Service will be at 3PM in Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel.
