Norma S. Yanculeff died Monday, May 5, 2008 at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, NC at the age of 78. Born 11/01/29 in Cleveland, Ohio to Anthony and Rose Sinese, she grew up and lived in Ohio most of her life, moving to North Carolina with her husband, Cy, to be near her loving daughter, Laura. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her canine companions, Norma is survived by two sons, Christo A. Yanculeff and wife Crystal of Athens, TN, and Alex L. Yanculeff of Akron, OH; a daughter Laura Remsburger and husband David J. of Dallas, NC, two grandchildren, Cross and Alycia E. Remsburger, both of Dallas, NC, and two sisters, Rachel Roberto of Mayfield Heights, OH and Edith Riley of Mesa, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband and dance partner of 50 years, L. Cy Yanculeff in 2007, and her parents Anthony Sinese and Rose Sinese DiBlasio. Her friendly, patient, helpful, and loving nature will be missed by all whose lives she touched throughout the years. The family would like to personally thank Jennifer McCann, critical care nurse at Gaston Memorial Hospital, for her special talks with and care of Norma during her short stay, as well as Hospice Chaplain Carol Ann Lawler. A private service will be held at a later date. The family suggests that memorials in lieu of flowers be made to the American Diabetes Association.
