Ocie Miller

Ocie Luella Perkins Miller 91, of Connelly Springs, NC, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2011 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton, NC. Formerly of Gaston County, she was born on December 29, 1919 in Lowell, NC to the late Lloyd Hunter Perkins and Eslee Messer Perkins. She was married 64 years to the late Willie Paul Miller. They raised six children in Ranlo, NC and were former residents of Grassy Creek, NC for 24 years, prior to moving to Connelly Springs in 2004. Two sons, Daniel Eugene Miller and wife Karen of Marietta, GA; Donald Paul Miller and wife Cleta of Mt. Holly; three daughters, Paula Miller Lane of Gastonia; Linda Miller Hanna and husband Cliff of Connelly Springs and Cathy Miller Wise of St. Louis, MO., 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren survive her. In addition to her parents, her husband, a son, Gary Lee Miller in 1961, a brother, Luther ?Bud? Perkins, and sisters Kathleen Spencer, Ruby Walker and Betty Jenkins, preceded her in death. The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday November 9, 2011 at Gateway Baptist Church, 3105 Sandy Ford Rd., Newton, NC with Pastor Jerome Walker officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00p.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the church, prior to the service. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia, NC.
