Oma Brown

September 13, 1942 — February 18, 2019

Mrs. Oma Beatrice “Bea” (Pitts) Brown, 76, of Hickory, NC went to her heavenly home the evening of Monday, February 18th, 2019, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness. Beatrice, daughter of the late George Noland and Nellie Rebeca Pitts was born September 13, 1942 in Catawba County, NC.

She was united in holy matrimony to Floyd Eugene Brown, Sr. Their union was blessed with 5 children. Her husband, Floyd, preceded her in death on October 5, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Lloyd Pitts, Billie Pitts, Nolan Pitts, Evelona Self and her great-grandson, Deacon Carl Trivette.

At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Mtn. View Mennonite Church of Newton, NC. She was a prayer warrior and loved everyone she met. Her Christian life, generous spirit and contagious smile influenced so many and will remain in the lives of all who knew her.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Beatrice Brown Spencer and husband, Larry, Floyd Eugene Brown, Jr., and wife Annette, Ronald Edward Brown, and wife Jeannie, William Scott Brown and fiancé Jane, and Tommy Eugene Brown and girlfriend Angie all of Hickory, NC; numerous grandchild and great-grandchildren; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be 2:00 pm on Thursday February 21, 2019 at Mountain View Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Mennonite Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Thursday February 21, 2019 at Mountain View Mennonite Church.
