Biography Pansy Rebecca Pope Wince, 58 of 16th Street, N.E. Hickory died on Saturday August 25, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born September 1, 1953 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Glenn Pope & Ida Mae Barlow Pope. Pansy was a graduate of Newton Conover High School. Three daughters, Windy Dawn Swink and husband Joe of Taylorsville, Juanita S. Bolton and husband Chad of Conover and Tammy Louise Swink of Glen Alpine; Mary Schronce & husband Jack, Violet Starr, Hazel Withers and husband Charles, Margaret Hedrick of Newton, Marie Erwood and Linda Byles and husband Joe of Newton; four brothers, Dewey Pope and wife Edith, Howard Pope and wife Faye, Fred Pope and wife Silvia and Larry Pope and wife Nancy; and five grand-children, Kendal, Kayla, Sierra, Sebrina and Journey survive her. Two sisters, Dorothy Henson and Rachel Clark; and three brothers in law, Lawrence Starr, Lee Hedrick and Dean Erwood preceded her in death. The funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Brian Correll will officiate. Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery in Newton. The family will receive friends 11-12:30, Tuesday, August 28, 2012, prior to the service, in the chapel.
