Patricia Shelton

Patricia Ann Goings Shelton, 56 of N. Lookout St, Claremont died Saturday November 28, 2009 at her residence. Born July 28, 1953 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of Jesse Burnise Houser Goings of the home and the late Gray Franklin Goings. In addition to her mother, a son, Shannon Wesley Shelton of Catawba, NC; a sister, Jane Goings Cole of Vale and two grandchildren, Bryson Dickie Shelton and Caroline Amanda Shelton survive her. Her husband, Melton Leon Shelton preceded her in death. She was an employee of Hickory Springs Furniture Company. She was a loving mother, a generous giver who devoted her life to her family. Hers was a life spent devoted to fulfilling the happiness of others. Unquestionable love for her son and grandchildren was shown each and every day. She was always willing to sacrifice personal wants to see others smile. It is truly difficult to find someone with as much love for others as she had in her heart. Her memory will be cherished forever by those who knew her. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday December 1, 2009 at Jenkins Funeral Home chapel with Rev. James Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 p.m. prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
