Patrick Daniel Dugan, died peacefully at the age of 80 surrounded by his loving wife of 57 years, Elizabeth (Finn) and their six children. He was born in 1940 to John Dugan and Catherine (Rafferty) in Bronx, New York. Patrick attended and graduated from Rice High School in Manahattan NY. After graduation, he enlisted into the Navy and toured around the world on the USS Canberra CAG-2. He then transferred and served his country in the US Marine Corp. After serving in the military, Patrick attended Forham University in the Bronx. He then went on to work for the City of New York, where he became Supervisor and Director of the NYC Environmental Police Department and was also a fire arms instructor at Camp Smith In NY for the FBI. Even though he retired, law enforcement was in still in his system and he responded to national disasters such as 911 and Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Patrick met and made many friends from all over the world and enjoyed sailing on the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. After retirement, Patrick moved from New York to Newton, NC with his wife Elizabeth.
A great man, member of the FOP, avid Greenbay Packers fan and hero to his family, he is to be remembered for his great kindness and compassion. He will truly be missed by all who had the opportunity to meet him. We will forever miss hearing him say SHH, enough, one at time, I can't hear you and trust me!
And yes we all know you were "Patty Good Guy."
Survived by wife, Elizabeth of the home, daughters, Patricia Dugan Whiteman (Sam) of Newton, Katherine Dugan of Hawley Pa, Maureen Mckechnie (Alexander) of Palm Coast Fl, Kerri Wnuk (Kaz) of Marion NC, Eileen Catalano of Hawley PA, Jennifer Dugan of Catawba NC, 13 grandchildren, five great grandchildren a brother, Jackie of Delaware, a sister Kathy (Ray) Carroll of Bronx, NY; three nieces; family in Ireland and England and many great friends.
A private family service will be planned at a later date.
