Paul Wesley Gaither

Paul Wesley Gaither Sr., 78, passed away at Fry Regional Medical Center on March 22, 2025, in Hickory, NC. He was born on December 4, 1946. Paul was a retired from being a truck driver for 46 years. Paul was a loving father and grandfather whose kind and compassionate nature touched everyone he met.

Paul leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his family. He is survived by his children, Paul Gaither Jr., Wanda Gaither, Rodney Gaither, all of Hickory, NC, Belinda Gaither of Arizona, Sidney Rice of Seattle, WA, Alexis Clifton, Haley Gaither, and Brandon Gaither all of Hickory, NC; three brothers, Bennett Robinson (Shirley) of Fayetteville, NC, Jackie Robinson of Hickory, NC, and Barabas Jones of Philadelphia, PA; one sister, Debra Shouford of Hickory, NC. Paul is also survived by 27 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his (mother) Ruth Helms, (stepfather) Roosevelt Helms, (father) Bennett Robinson, (brother) Jerry Gaither, and his (sister) Mary Fuller.

Paul enjoyed a life filled with simple pleasures; he loved fishing, traveling, and driving trucks. His greatest joy was spending time with his Family, sharing stories, going on vacations and making memories that will be treasured forever.

The funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on April 5, 2025, at 3 PM at Clinton Tabernacle AME Zion Church, located at 480 Catawba Valley Blvd SE, Hickory, NC, 28602

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm - 3:00pm, Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at Clinton Tabernacle AME Zion Church.
