Paul Woods

Paul Stanley Woods, 96, of Newton died Monday, August 7, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born November 15th, 1926 he was the son of the late John and Mamie Woods. Paul served in WWII in the Philippines as a Staff Sergeant, worked as a structural engineer for the Boeing Company for 32 years and was a volunteer with JAARS in Waxhaw for 22 years.

His daughter, Ruth Sparks (Ed); two sons, Robert Woods (Connie) and Steven Woods (Conni); five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren survive him.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Mary Woods, his brothers, John, William and George and his sister, Agnes Speer preceded him in death.

The funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Jenkins Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Helton and Rev. Dr. Susan Roddey officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at 12:00 P.M. and burial will follow at St. Paul's Memorial Park.
