Ralph Cook

Ralph Ronald Cook, 88, of Hickory passed away in his home Sunday, May 7th, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Born February 23rd, 1935, he was the son of the late Autus Frank Cook and Hettie Pearl Cook. He managed a group home for eight years for the mentally challenged and worked at Shuford Mills for 35 years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. He loved the outdoors and spent much of his time camping. Most of all he loved his family, especially his wife of 64 years. He was very involved in his church and served as an assistant deacon and Pathfinder Director for many years for Hickory Seventh Day Adventist Church. He will be missed by all his friends and family.

He is survived by his loving wife (Elizabeth) Betty Cook of Hickory; his children Julie Paxton of Hickory, Ralph Cook, Jr. (Ron) and his wife Terrie of Hickory, Jeremy Cook and his wife Tosha of Hickory; two grandchildren, Jennifer, Tyler, Gabe, Savannah, and Dallas; three great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Ethan, and Shantel.

In addition to his parents, Autus Frank Cook and Hettie Pearl Cook, he is preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Frank Cook.

There will be a visitation 1-2PM, Thursday, May 11th, 2023, at Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 172 23rd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601, with a memorial service following at 2PM.

Memorials may be made to the Hickory Seventh Day Adventist Pathfinder Club.

Jenkins Funeral Home is not involved at the memorial service at the church.
