Randy Cowan

Rev. Randy Marrion Cowan, 55 of Claremont died Friday September 27th, 2013 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born September 28th, 1957 he was the son of Myrtle Cowan of Jacksonville, NC. and the late Liston Carroll Cowan. In 2002 he was called to Newton to be pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. He was employed by Cargo Transporters for the last five years. An avid fisherman, he loved music, playing the guitar and singing. In addition to his mother, Myrtle Cowan of Jacksonville, NC; his wife of 26 years, Dona Gene Moore Cowan of the home; a daughter, Suzanna Cowan of the home; a sister, Lou Pace and husband Ed of Marion, IN; a brother, Wesley Cowan and wife Dorothy of Jacksonville, NC survive him. A sister, June Cowan preceded him in death. The funeral will be 1:00 pm Monday September 30th, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Hickory with Dr. Phillip Reynolds officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the ceremony at the church.
