Randy Young

Randy Alton Young, 54 of Newton died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born August 25th, 1958 he was the son of Alton Lester Young of Palm Harbor, FL and the late Joan Marie Boak Young. A US Air Force Veteran, he was employed by Hickory Business Furniture. Randy was a devoted husband and "the love of Penny's Life," as well as a proud and loving "daddy." He was a die-hard race fan and Earnhardt fan. In addition to his Father, Alton Lester Young; his wife of seven years, Penny Denise Houser Young of the home; a daughter, Miranda Brooke Young Maulding and husband Eric of Taylorsville; a step-son, Frank Edward Uebelacker of Hickory; two sisters, Susan Ann Marks and husband Bill of Tampa, FL and Debra May Westaway of Palm Harbor, FL; three brothers, Scott Alan Young of Greensboro, Gregg Thomas Young and wife Sandra of Suffolk, VA and Brett Lester Young of Conover and numerous nieces and nephews survive him. The funeral will be 4;00PM Wednesday November 28, 2012 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm-4:00 pm at the funeral home.
