Ray "Rocky" Hager 71 of Conover died Tuesday, December 18th, 2018 at his residence. Born December 14th, 1947 he was the son of the late Ray and Vivian Allen Hager. He had a career as owner and operator of 4-Speed Auto Parts. He served his community 25 years with Station 6 at Conover Fire Department. He continued service to the community working with Jenkins Funeral Home after his retirement.
His wife of 32 years Barbara Hennessee Hager of the home; his son, Dr. Allen Hager and wife Karen of Randleman; two daughters, Ashley McAdams of Conover and Paege Abernathy and husband Clayton of Conover; a sister, Vivian Bandy and husband Charles of Hickory; four grandchildren, Evan Hager, Jessica Ledford and husband Brandon, Caleb Welch and his beloved Abigail McAdams; a nephew, Hayden Bandy of Raleigh and an aunt Lucille Pitts of Newton survive him.
The funeral and the celebration of Rocky's life will be 12:30 pm Friday at First United Methodist Church in Conover with Rev. Dr. Gary Royals officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105 or to First United Methodist Church 410 First Ave North, Conover, NC 28613.
