Ray Harvell

Ray Edward Harvell, 84, of Newton passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022 peacefully in his home. Born Friday, October 14th, 1938 he was the son of the late Ernest Edward Harvell and Lena Mae Cooke Harvell.

Ray loved fishing and yard sales. He was devote Baptist. He served in the Army National Guard for three years and in the United States Navy for four years.

He is survived by his children Ray Joe Kaylor of Newton, Timothy (Tina) Harvell of Maiden, Susan Moretz of Newton, Lori Carr of Newton; his sister Martha (Mickey) Setzer of Denver, NC; his grandchildren Amy, Andy, Jared, Jameson, Dustin, Misty, Jonathan, Adam, Kristopher, Scotty; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Sandra Harvell, his son Scotty Harvell, his brother Babe Harvell, and his sister Marlene Boggs.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM - 3:30 PM Sunday, December 18th, 2002 at Providence Road Baptist Church.

The memorial service will be 3:30 PM Sunday, December 18th, 2002 at Providence Road Baptist Church with Pastor Dustin Carr officiating.
