Ray Decatur Robinson, 71 of Newton died Wednesday January 1st, 2014 at his residence in Newton. Born January 27th, 1942 he was the son of the late Samuel Galen Robinson and Ruby Jo Robinson. An avid fisherman and hunter, he loved the beach. He was a devoted family man who loved his wife and girls. His wife of 50 years, Jane Elizabeth Robinson of the home; two daughters, Renee Robinson Pitts and husband Todd of Vale and Susan Robinson Stikeleather and husband David of Hickory; three sisters, Donna Fox of Burnsville, Emma Fisher of Asheboro, N.C. and Alice McMahan and husband Linzey of Burnsville, N.C.; three grand-children, Laurel Hendrix, Lance Hendrix and Andrew Stikeleather; a great grand-daughter, Molly Hendrix and a number of nieces and nephews survive him. A grand-daughter, Abigail Stikeleather preceded him in death. The funeral will be 2:00 pm Saturday January 4th, 2014 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor William Church and Pastor David Stikeleather officiating. Burial will follow at Southside Cemetery in Newton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1-2:00 pm Saturday January 4th, 2014 at the funeral home.
