Raymond Scott

October 13, 1944 — March 5, 2017

Raymond Francis Scott 72 of Newton and formerly of Jackson, OH died Sunday, March 5th, 2017 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born October 13th, 1944 he was the son of the late Albert Scott and Mary Simpson Scott. A US Army veteran, he served in Vietnam. He was a firefighter paramedic working on a heavy rescue in an engine company. In Ohio, he was a member of the Firefighter's 4 unit retiree. He was owner operator of S & S Construction Company for over 40 years. He was also owner operator with his wife of Deb's Health Cupboard in OH. Since moving to NC he was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Maiden.     His wife, Deborah Sue Hedges Scott of the home; two daughters, April Dawn Primmer of Sugar Grove OH and Amanda Joel Muncie and husband Mike of Logan OH; three sons, Timothy Albert Scott of Zanesville, OH Jeremey Eugene Primmer and wife Gina of Ashville, OH and Jared Mark Primmer and wife Megan of Vale, NC, 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren survive him. In addition to his parents, a grandson, Jesse Scott preceded him in death. The funeral will be 10:00 am Friday, March 10th, 2017 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Logan, OH with Pastor Larry Blakely officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Lancaster. The family will receive friends from 6-8:30 pm Thursday, March 9th, 2017 and 9-10:00am Friday March 10th, 2107 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Logan, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church 2057 West Maiden Road Maiden, NC 28650. In addition to the funeral service in Logan, Ohio, a local Memorial Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Liberty Baptist Church, 2054 West Maiden Road, Maiden, NC 28650.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.jenkinsfuneralhome.net.
