R.D. Cottrell, 77 of Morganton died Sunday, June 12th, 2016 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born July 5th, 1938 he was the son the late of Arthur Cottrell and Ruby Cottrell. His career was in law enforcement. He was true mountain man. Just a simple man, loving life and God. His favorite quote was, "the truth is always the truth, only falsehoods change."
He is survived by a daughter, Traci Stockstill of Cary, NC and a son, Ronnie Cottrell of Luther, OK; a sister, LaQuita DeGraffenreid of Crane, TX.
Funeral arrangements will be private. No public service is being planned.
