Richard Meyer

Richard â??Dickâ? Calvin Meyer, 62 of State Park Road died Saturday August 2, 2008 at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville. Born July 10, 1946 in Imperial County, Calif. he was the son of the late Richard John Meyer and Joyce Yvonne Oâ??Neal. The son of a â??Hall of Fameâ? race car driver, he was successful as a crew chief, a driver, and a race car builder throughout his career. He worked in the movie industry, special effects for Paramount pictures. Meyer was an innovator who led a most fulfilling and exciting life. Two sons, Rich and wife Donna Meyer of Concord and Adam Meyer of Clemmons; a sister, Denise Stepps of Copperopolis, Calif.; his step-father, James Bruce Oâ??Neal of Ft. Collins, CO. and his longtime companion, Melanie Musser of Troutman survive him. A Celebration of Richardâ??s life will take place at a later date.
