On December 30, 2022, Ricky “Dewayne” Osborne of Johnson City, TN passed away at the age of 45. He was surrounded by family when he made his transition from this life into his eternal home.
Dewayne was born to Ricky Lynn Osborne and Cathy Sue Hoilman on June 7th, 1977. He was preceded in death by both his parents, Ricky and Cathy; his paternal grandparents, Hobart and Fannie Osborne; his maternal grandparents, Millard and Blondie Hoilman; his daughter, Cheyanne Osborne; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Destiny Osborne Ludeman (Jordan); grandson, August Ludeman; sister, Kristie Osborne Haynes (Bryan); nephew, Brenden Haynes (Faith); great niece, Rayna Haynes; stepmother, Melba Osborne; special uncle, June Barnett; two special cousins, Clayton Osborne and Todd Cooper; along with other aunts and uncles; and several cousins.
Dewayne enjoyed nature and loved the outdoors, and in various seasons of his life would find his way to the world of fishing, camping, or hunting. He was known for his innate ability to fix most anything and had quite the skillful hand in the area of carpentry. He will be remembered for his inherent generous heart and willingness to push himself aside when there was a need that he could meet or something within his power to give.
He was very proud of his daughter, Destiny, and most often referred to her as “sweetheart or sis”. As “Papaw”, his grandson, August, ranked at the top of his people list and one wouldn’t be in conversation with him for very long before the “little man” album on his phone would be flipped open to boast of its contents.
He was dearly loved by his family and spent his final days in NC sharing in the comfort of their home and care. He expressed sincere and genuine gratitude for a “Christmas Miracle”, when his prayer to be with family and see his grandson open the gift specifically from him, was granted.
In recent months Dewayne found the path back to His Creator and committed his heart to Jesus Christ, for which we are thankful. He will be deeply missed, but we take comfort in the Hope that we will one day see him again and be reunited forever.
We leave this quote in loving memory of our beloved Dewayne Osborne:
"This day I breathed first: time is come round,
And where I did begin there shall I end;
My life is run his compass." – William Shakespeare
