Robert Hudson

Robert (Robbie) Charles Hudson 55 of Hickory died after a short, intense battle with cancer Friday, March 3rd, 2017 at his home. Born June 6th, 1961 in Hickory, NC he was the son of the late Archie and Virginia Yoder Hudson. Robert served in the U.S. Army as a mechanic from 1979-1983. He found his true passion as an over the road truck driver in 1993 until forced to retire due to his health in 2016.  Robert was proud that in his 23 year career, he never had an accident nor a ticket.   In addition to his wife Judith Hudson; his children Dawn Kemp and husband Dustin in Lenoir, Robyn Hudson and Alex Woznick of Hickory, Charles Hudson and fiancée Liane Ervin of Vale survive him; he is further survived by his sister, Mary Ruth Hudson, a brother Patrick Hudson and partner Junior Grindstaff; and many nieces and nephews. In addition he is survived by his stepdaughters, Rosetta (Gerard) Bredael, Mary Larson, and Pamela Roehl, Grandson Dominic, five step-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren and special friends Ricky and Tina Cook and Tyma Kilgore. A special thanks to pallbearers Andrew Hudson, and Ricky Cook, honorary pallbearers Allie and Sami Bredael and two step grand children Anita Ramiraz and Leah Beaumont.     A Celebration of life will be 11:00am Saturday, March 18th, 2017 at Jenkins Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 10:00am-11:00am Saturday, March 18th, 2017 at Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home .   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice or The Wounded Warrior Project.   Please sign the online guestbook at www.jenkinsfuneralhome.net.
