Roger Gilliam

Roger Gilliam, 74, of Hickory went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, September 16, 2024 at Decedent's Home. Born March 14th, 1950 he was the son of the late Carl Leroy Gilliam and Ruth Knox Chester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ollis Shelby “Red” Chester; sister, Brenda Evans; and sister-in-law, Vivian Gilliam.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Cheryl E. Gilliam of the home; four siblings, Gary Gilliam, Vicki Hodges and husband Randy, Eddie Gilliam and wife Carolyn, all of Hickory, and Carl Gilliam Jr of Georgia; brother-in-law, Garland Wayne "Junior" Evans and wife Ruth Ann; two nephews, Bryon Gilliam and Greg Evans and wife Lindsay of Hudson; three nieces, Angie Gilliam Thomas of Bethlehem, Karla Nicole “Nikki” Kovacik and husband Peter of Wisconsin, Alicia Gilliam of Hickory ;and beloved dog Benji.

Graveside service was held at Fairview Cemetery, Hickory, NC.
