Roger Killian

Roger Albert Killian, 74, of Newton died Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Ithaca, NY on December 19th, 1948, he was the son of Jimmie Wray Killian and Junerose Kuchler Killian. He graduated from Cornell University and held a Master's degree in Classical Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Roger was an Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster for years. Roger was a music and film enthusiast, with extensive collections of both.

Roger is survived by his wife of 53 years, Diana; son, R.C. Killian; daughter, Laura Sexton and husband Charles; grandchildren, Paolo Sexton and Lena Sexton; siblings, Peter Killian and wife Glenda, Timothy Killian and wife Bonnie, Betty Murphy and husband Mike, Fred Killian, Glenn Killian and wife Morrie, Ken Killian and wife Janette, Laurin Killian and wife Leslie; and beloved cat Plooshie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Sarah Victoria Killian.

The memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 2pm at First United Methodist Church, 300 N. Main Ave, Newton, NC, The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at First United Methodist Church, 300 N. Main Ave, Newton, NC.
