Ronald Sherrill

Ronald Gene Sherrill 68 of Conover died Thursday, April 7th, 2016 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born March 24th, 1948 he was the son of the late Herman Sherrill and Lillian Pauline Sherrill. He retired from the NC DOT after 35 years of service. A U.S. Army veteran he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling with his family. His wife, Rhonda Clark Sherrill of the home; four sons, Kevin Smith and wife Kim of Hickory, Jason Smith of Maiden, Ryan Sherrill of the home and Christian Sherrill of the home; two brothers, David Sherrill and wife Sandra of Bryson City and Harold Sherrill and wife Margaret of Boone and eight grandchildren, Justin and Callie Sherrill, Dylan and Morgan Smith, Gabe Smith, Camdyn, Zayden and Genedyn Sherrill survive him. A daughter, Paula Sherrill Milam preceded him in death. The funeral will be 3:00 PM Monday, April 11th, 2016 at New Vision Presbyterian Church with Pastor Mark Osborne and the Rev. David Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 pm at the church.
