Roy Powell

Roy Oliver ?Pete? Powell, 67 of Catawba, N.C. died on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born April 26, 1944 in Green County, Ky., he was the son of the late Mellwood Powell and Ruby Geraldine Neagle Powell. Affectionately known as "Paw" to many. Two daughters, Rena Church & husband Troy of Maiden and Cathy Parker and Todd of Taylorsville; a sister, Judy Carol Curry and husband Jerry of Greensburg, Ky.; a brother, Danny Lee Powell and wife Sue of Elizabethtown, Ky.; and a grandson, Wesley Todd Parker of Catawba, a great grand-daughter, Abbie Gayle Parker survive him. A grand-daughter, Heather Leigh Church and two brothers, Larry Steven Powell and Robert Joseph Powell preceded him in death. A memorial service will be TBD Saturday, May 5, 2012 in the chapel of Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, KY., with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery in Greensburg, Ky. The family will receive friends TBD, Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the funeral home.
